June 4, 2011 Entry 1

Hey folks!
Today I arrived in Seattle without too much trouble and checked into the apartment.

I promptly moved into the apartment in order to start my first adventure in Seattle.
When I started out from the apartment to the downtown area I was in search of a bicycle rental facility.  However, I got a little distracted/lost and in a very circuitous route ended up at the visitor center.  I can tell you one thing, I will not be without things to do in Seattle!

Then I ended up at Pike's market where I had a chance meeting with somebody from Fort Collins.  It is a small world after all!  She ended up giving me lots of good travel advice and after exchanging numbers I made my way back to the apartment.

At this point, my roommate Rudy had arrived and ended up meeting with two other Amgen interns.  We all decided to go out to eat and ended up at Ivar's Fish Bar.

This was the meal.  Fish and Chips and Monster (The Breakfast of College-Aged People).

Along the way, we spotted the Gum Wall, the original Starbucks, and Public Marketplace.
Yes that is all gum!  I didn't really touch it, but I did smell the aroma of a variety of gum flavors.  Gives new meaning to Dr. Pepper's 23 flavors.

First Starbucks!  I didn't go in, but it is on my list

Public Market and Bobby
After the delicious meal we walked back, but unfortunately we got lost again!  It made a short trip into a very long trip!  Although I did get some pretty shots of Seattle.

Thus, concluded day 1.
